As the year of 2018 begins, Selective hearing (in partnership with The Afrofest), and Ukhamba beerworx is calling all the Cape Town masses who fancy a proper rooftop party with a touch of Africa, consisting of live bands, DJs, traditional braai food and a good variety of Beers .. This will be carried out by good vibes to bring the 2018 with good spirits.

Ukhamba Beerworx is the place where only good beats for the selective listeners and be aware that we bring the rare played beats and not the typical type u hear everyday.

Umngana foods will be selling braai plates for 50 -80rand on the day.

The AfroFest is a collaborative movement that showcases/promotes African culture actors across Cape Town. They co-create/support celebrations of African culture to strengthen local businesses and artists throughout the year that strive to keep culture alive in the city, with a special objective of a yearly city wide festival for heritage weekend in September. Catch them at the rooftop party spreading awareness about their initiative as well as offering you exciting challenges through intriguing games around African culture.

Tribe Called Azania (TCA):
TCA is a collective of music students studying at the South African College of Music (UCT). Coming from various corners of the land of Azania, the collective met at the academy of music and yearned to share and establish a musical relationship conducive enough to remind themselves and others about the complexities of music found in Bantu cultures in the land of Azania.

Having been influenced by a multicultural and anthropological society of Azania, music to the collective has become a practice of not only enjoyment but also a practice of healing. Raised under an amalgamation of a variety of cultures in music, the collective seek to share and express an experience of different kinds of musical influences, from Hip-Hop, Jazz and African music.

Mafiana (Selective Hearing):
Mafiana is the writer, producer DJ and Rapper, with a historical experience in Cape town hiphop and modern boom bap beats influenced by Mark farina,RJD2 and the likes of Freddie Joachim, this fuses to another element that has developed in his musical career with the Selective Hearing record label which he is a founder of. Formerly a member of First Case, an old school hiphop band since 1999 and as part of The stereotypes in 2006, Mafiana broke thru the small Cape Town industry thru theses groups and has experience with other artist who are well established and with those who aren’t. He has decided to path his own way and has appeared to international festivals such as afrika festival in Stuttgart, Germany. he has a residency at the touch of madness in obz and ukhamba beerworx in woodstock.

Adon Geel:
A village born and raised, inner city groomed and based Adon Geel is a music producer/ craftsman, a DJ and a qualified audio engineer from Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. He is also 1/3 of The Groove Republik, a collective of DJs,musicians, producers, painters and creative crafters around E.C dedicated on music and art creation
His music feel, style and texture is greatly influence by soul hiphop and jazz, though founded upon a range between laid back feel good beats,neosoul,kwaito, afro-pan funk sets and urban live grooves. The aim is in all ways, tap into one or two souls with every set.“ If you cant put a finger on it, sure you must feel the rhythm”
Over the years He has been earning thumbs up from music lovers with his heartwarm- ing dj sets that he later extended with live instruments feel, both in intimate spaces and outdoor festivals.
Apart from being a DJ, Adon Geel has also produced for array of Easter Cape household names and a few national artists to count..
